Rhap and I went fishing last night. I say "last night" because we went fishing around 6:30 and it got dark really quick. Most of our time was spent using flashlights and trying not to get a hook in one of our eyeballs.
Here is a picture of our fishing spot:
Our spot was really close to where we parked. Usually we go around the lake to the other side, but this time we just went to the water and started fishing.
Here is Rhap getting our poles ready:
It was freezing cold, so we had to be bundled up:
Rhap caught the first fish of the night. (notice how dark it is already)
This trout looked different than all the rest of them. It has some really beautiful orange and yellow colors in it. It had a beautiful color:
Count em' up!! Anyone want fish for dinner? YAY
Of course you know there is always more to the story than the smiling pictures. Rhapsody straight up became an actual bear in her fishing techniques.
Rhap had just caught a fish and I was holding the chain to help her out. We got her fish through the gills and onto the metal chain. However- before I was able to clasp it shut the fish started flinging itself around. Now- I am usually a really reliable partner, but not in this instance. I am so afraid the fish is going to bite me that I allowed the fish to fling itself off of the chain hook and it fell to the ground.
Of course when the fish flung itself from the chain- I was standing close to the lake, so the fish just flipped right into the water.
Now here is where we see Rhap transform from a blonde-girl to a grizzly-bear. She throws herself into the water and begins frantically gripping for the fish that just escaped.
Hahahahaha
Rhap got a grip on the fish, but the little sucker got loose. Now Rhap was getting desperate. She started really concentrating and using all of her momma-bear skills. Somehow she located the fish and grabbed it and chucked it back onto the shore.
I stood there laughing so hard. When she threw the fish onto the shore it landed directly in the lid of our tackle box. Perfect shot!
It was the best time I have ever had fishing.
